1975 to 1980 24 Bullroyd Drive, Bradford

This was Brian & Anna’s first house from when they got married. In 1977 Brian made a calculated career change from professional employment in real estate to a self-employed sole trader in industry, which was a big jump from comfort into the unknown. Brian’s entry level to the metalworking industry was by ‘problem solving’ and ‘creative selling’. He introduced innovative abrasive products, carbide burrs and pneumatic tools to upgrade inefficient processes.

1980 - 1986 40 Haslingden Drive, Bradford

As the business progressed & the family started to grow, more space was needed. A semi-detached house came up for sale which was ideal to accommodate both needs. Part of the large basement area was converted to form the next step of the journey for Engineering Utilities.

1986 - 1997 200 Pasture Lane, Clayton, Bradford

Pasture Lane was a landmark for the business - the momentous move out of a domestic base into proper commercial premises. We purchased this old community police station in 1986 and built a double-story warehouse on the back in 1989. This is where we started trading with Eisenblatter in 1991.

1997 - 2007 7 Milestone Court, Stanningley, Leeds

This was another milestone for the business in more ways than one! This took us to another level in terms of operation – 4000 square feet of newly racked out warehouse with offices all on the same level. This is the place we purchased our first walk-behind lift truck to enable us to unload the ever-increasing amount of pallets of consumables and machinery. It wasn’t too long before we were on the lookout for something bigger….

2007 - Present 75 Swinnow Lane, Bramley, Leeds

More space was soon needed to facilitate the business development and growth. We took advantage of an opportunity at Bramley to invest and future-proof our premises and site space requirements at this prime business location – which is where we are today. 45 years on from Bullroyd Drive, we’re still introducing innovation to the metal working industry amongst other new sectors, to upgrade processes to increase both efficiency and safety.
